What Does the BMW CPO Warranty Cover?

Car-buying paperwork

If you’re trying to decide between a brand-new BMW or a pre-owned model, consider a certified pre-owned BMW—these vehicles offer the best of both worlds, where you can enjoy the savings of a pre-owned car while taking advantage of new-car perks. Plus, when you choose a BMW, you’ll take advantage of the BMW Certified Pre-Owned warranty, which provides peace of mind on Roswell roads.

What does the BMW CPO warranty cover? The team at United BMW takes a closer look at the BMW CPO warranty coverage below to show you why buying certified pre-owned is a smart investment. If you have any other questions after reading, feel free to contact our Alpharetta dealership.

What’s Included in the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Warranty?

To earn the title “certified pre-owned,” used BMW models must have more than 300 miles but less than 60,000 miles on the odometer and must pass a rigorous inspection by certified BMW technicians. During this inspection, the certified pre-owned BMW is reconditioned using genuine OEM parts to ensure the vehicle performs optimally on the Marietta roads. Once all this is complete, the vehicle will then be covered by:

  • The remainder of the original 4-year/50,000-mile new vehicle warranty
  • The 1-year/unlimited mileage BMW-certified pre-owned warranty

Drivers will also enjoy 24/7 roadside assistance for up to six years and complimentary service loaners (subject to dealer availability) during warrantable repairs.

What is Not Covered by the BMW CPO Warranty?

Now that you know what the BMW CPO warranty does cover, it’s important to take a look at some of the parts not protected:

  • Vehicle maintenance: Brake pads and rotors (discs), brake shoes and drums, filters, fluid replacement of a component by itself, scheduled maintenance services, spark plugs, wiper blade inserts, blade assemblies/beams.
  • Upkeep: Adjustments, batteries (as a stand-alone repair), driveshaft flex disc, engine drive belts, exhaust systems (including the gasoline engine catalytic converters, etc.
  • Suspension: Ball joints, bushings, center tie rod, coil springs – sagging (except for leveling system pneumatic/hydraulic springs), control arms, brackets, etc.
